Abstract

Abstract

This research examines the effects of school funding disparities on educational outcomes, focusing on how unequal financial resources contribute to achievement gaps among students. Despite policies aimed at promoting equity in education, significant funding disparities persist, often correlated with socioeconomic status and geographic location. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach, the study analyzes quantitative data on academic performance, graduation rates, and resource allocation in various school districts, complemented by qualitative interviews with educators, students, and parents. Findings indicate that schools with inadequate funding struggle to provide essential resources such as qualified teachers, extracurricular programs, and updated technology, leading to lower student engagement and achievement. The research highlights how funding disparities disproportionately affect marginalized communities, perpetuating cycles of disadvantage and limiting opportunities for upward mobility. Additionally, the study explores the role of community advocacy and policy reforms in addressing these inequalities. Recommendations include increasing equitable funding models, enhancing community involvement, and implementing targeted programs to support underfunded schools. By shedding light on the critical link between school funding and educational outcomes, this research aims to inform policymakers and educators about the necessity of equitable resource distribution to foster a more just and effective educational system.
